Searched for yourself

Image
Dear deep feeler,                                               You are braver than most. For in a world where it is cool to be cold, it is not easy to always be the one who cares the most. When you walk into the world with an open heart, you must be prepared to bleed for your courage. For there are so many people with sharp edges that will cut you deeply when you attempt to piece them back together. There are so many places that seem too harsh and too gray for someone with as soft a gaze as you. You are stronger than most. For no matter how many times you have been let down, how many times you have searched for yourself in others and found nothing. You refuse to give up. It requires strength to keep taking another step,  even if you don't know if you're on the right  way. There is nothing more powerful than to keep giving, even if you are promised nothing ...

Under pressure

Image
Mountains can't rise without earthquakes and rainbows can't form without rain a match can't ignite 'til you strike it cause its friction produces the flame diamonds are formed under pressure stars shine brighter when they explode and volcanoes can't rise from the ashes until cracks are beginning to show so I know that you feel like you're breaking that the rain never seems to subside that your world has been thoroughly shaken and you're not sure how you will survive but when all that pressure is building and you find yourself struggling to breathe just trust that you're going to get through this cause you are a diamond you see

SWEET DARKNESS

Image
When your eyes are tired the world is tired also. When your vision has gone no part of the world can find you. Time to go into dark where the night has eyes to recognize its own. There you can be sure you are not beyond love. The dark will be your home tonight. The night will give you a horizon further than you can see. You must learn one thing. The world was made to be free in. Give up all the other world except the one to which you belong. Sometimes it takes darkness and the sweet confinement of your aloneness to learn anything or anyone that does not bring you alive is too small for you.

Stars

Image
Keep your chin up little stargazer At worlds above our own, You are small but you are stardust And that's worth more than you've known, For every sun and solar flare Is made up just like you, And if they're cause for wonder Then I promise you are too. Look out little stargazer 'til nothing's left unseen, And know there's not a patch of sky Where no-one else's eyes have been, That the darkness that enfolds you Holds countless other starlit hearts, And with this you stand together Though you live lifetimes apart. Be brave now live lifetimes apart. Be brave now little stargazer The sky is growing light, And courage wanes like moonbeams When it's pulled out from the night, But like those who gazed before you; Know when your heart is full of fear, That it is always in your darkness That the stars start to appear.

Longing

Image
I'll write for you a poem that you can read from time to time. A tale of how we could be, in a world where you are mine. We'd travel near and far, just us, walking city blocks together. Our feet could take us anywhere and our hands would still be tethered. The starlight could be blinding as the sunshine fades away. Just tell me what to write and I'll create anything you say. I could write us into forever if you let my mind run wild I'd write us onto the tops of mountains where we'd play just like a child. I'd write us into all the wonders that I've ever dreamt of seeing, but the saddest part of writing is that I can't write you into being.

No -one cares

I lend everone my ear, But nobody my heart, And I sure would like to change that, But I don't know where to start, I smile more to myself, Than the world will ever see, Because the only time my smile is real, Is in my own company, People don't know how I feel, They never even ask, It seems that I have fooled them all, They can't see past my mask, If they were with me late at night, When the world was still asleep, Maybe then I'd let them sort, Through the secrets that I keep, But when I wake at 2am, Nobody is ever there, And I learnt that why I hide my heart, Is because no-one really cares.

Shore Line

Image
Leave your worries by the shore line, And run your bare feet through the sand, Let the water be a soft bed, When you cannot bear to stand, Make friends with flying seagulls, And hold the sun up on your palm, Before you duck beneath the water, Where the world is mute and calm, Tell the fish all of your problems, As they all come swimming past, When your lungs are close to bursting, Swim above the waves and gasp, Let the water hold your sadness, And waste it right out to the sea, So like a message in bottle, All your worries are set free, And the sea might make you feel alone, But the world has troubles too, For how else do you suppose, That the ocean got so blue?

YOU ARE NOT FOR EVERYONE

Image
The world is filed with people who, no matter what you do, will point blank not like you. But it is also filled with those who will love you fiercely. They are your people. You are not for everyone and that's ok. Talk to the people who can hear you. Don't waste your precious time and gifts trying to convince them of your value, they won't  ever want you're selling. Don't convince them to walk alongside you. You'll be wasting both  your time and theirs and will likely inflict unnecessary wounds, which will take precious time to heal. You are not for them and they are not for you; politely wave them on and continue  along your way. Sharing your path with someone is a sacred gift; don't cheapen this gift by  rolling yours in the wrong direction.

My Person

Image
For my Person the world needs people like you. people who care, who allow vulnerability into their lives, who don't run at the first sign of complexity, who invest time and effort into what they want, who are tolerant and open-minded, welcoming and caring. people who are soft with a fierce heart. people who are not scared to hold their ground when faced with conflict and derision. we need you. we hope to be you. thank you for existing, for speaking up, for holding on, for being who you are.

Something

Image
give me laugh lines and wrinkles i want proof of the jokes we shared engrave the lines into my face like the roots of a tree that grow deeper with each passing year i want sunspots as souvenirs for the beaches we laid on i want to look like i was  never afraid to let the world take me by the hand and show me what it's made of i want to leave this place knowing i did something with my body other than trying to make it look perfect

Once Upon A Time

Image
What if I read to you a story, Starting; " Once Upon A Time", And you realized that it was your life, Spelt out on every line, Would you hear my voice with wonder, As it brushed across each word, And pray my arms had strength to hold, The truth about your world, Would your view on life be different, And would it shock you most to find, That the things you thought defined you, Could be summed up in just two lines, And all the ones you took for granted, The ins and outs of every day, Play a bigger part in who you are, Than you'd ever dared to say, Would you wonder at the pages left, And all the places that they'll lead, Then vow to make each moment, One that you'd be proud to read, Because there is a story of your life, But it's you that holds the pen, And I hope you fill the pages right, Before you reach the end.

Illusion

Image
I've come to the conclusion That the whole world is an illusion. What is the deal? The script written in our minds, All the wonders you will find, Perhaps none of it's real. The ground, the sky, the entire world, It all seems like a massive swirl. The trees, the sun, rivers, and grass, The glimmering stream, It was only a dream, Even that bird who you just saw pass. The people, bustling about the streets, Only in your dreams do you truly meet. Who is this person that you call friend? They too , do not exist, It does seem odd to think like this. I wonder if the imagination has an end. In front of our eyes is the landscape, But only in our heads does it actually take shape. The mind is strange The world, just a figment of our imagination, Simply a neurological creation, But nothing will ever change An illusion, the world may be, But that does not mean you have to s...

December

Image
First snow! The flakes, So few , so light, Remake the world In solid white. All bundled up, We feel as if We were fat penguins, Warm and stiff. The toy-packed shops Half split their sides, And Mother brings home Things she hides. Old carols peal. The dusk is dense. There is a mood Of sweet suspense. The shepherds wait, The kings, the tree--- All wait for something Yet to be, Some miracle. And then it's here, Wrapped up in hope--- Another year!

The In between

Image
Oh I would live a sweet forever Inside the moments after waking, Where fragments left by dreams Take just a little too long breaking. For I've heard that there are realms Trapped in those seconds in between, Where life is a collision of reality and dream. What a wonder to have nothing More or less than you believe, To live within a world Of what your sleep filled mind conceives. But it breaks a heart to know It lasts no longer than a yawn, For with one rub of tried eyes Into reality I'm drawn.

Broken

Image
I remember when the world broke in, To rip apart my soul, For years after that one event, I thought myself not whole, My hours were spent with trying, To fix it up with tape and glue, Until one day I discovered, Everyone else was broken too, Here we were with pieces, Of ourselves in both our hands, So fragile and so open, That I began to understand, Maybe I'd been greedy, To want my soul all to myself, When it could be a lot more helpful, In the palms of someone else, Now every time I go somewhere, I leave part of me behind, And collect all of the pieces,  Of others souls that I can find, So when I'm meeting someone new, Its not just me they get, But also tiny fragments, Of all the others that I've met, And my life's become much bigger, Now that it's home to things so small, And if this is what " broken" means, I do not mind at al...

LOVE

Image
I don't know what it is like to love someone, who the world tells me I am not supposed to love. I can't imagine how hard it must be to love someone I am afraid to kiss on the street . But I do know what it like to love someone who I cannot be with. I know how it feels to have my brain tell me one thing, and my heart another. To live with the knowledge that if circumstances had been different, I would be with the one I love. I do know there are all kinds of barriers to love. I do believe the world needs less of them.

Someone Like You

Image
Do you think there is the possibility of you and I? In this lifetime, is that too much to hope for? There is something so delicate about this time, so fragile.  And if nothing ever comes of it, at least I have known this feeling,  this wonderful sense of optimism.  It is something I can always keep close to me-to draw from in my darkest hour like a ray of unspent sunshine.  No matter what happens next, I will always be glad to know there is someone like you in the world.

I wished to be your destination

Image
Kiss me with all your heart This unacceptable true feeling suits us well Sweeping across the moon and the vermilion gate cool wind find its effort vain Beneath the tranquility The world sees sacrifices  Playful and simple I am Hate to stay neutral and forbearing Candles burnt out so would my life being with you My life would be worth it I wished to be your destination Hold a Lamp and read for you not poem of love or book of tears May I chase it for life Not stained with dust Be attended by love May I follow your path The drizzle will heal the wound May my youth  Recall the remains Be devoted even when I'm down Thanks for your affection The end is like the beginning Once in lifetime  I fell for you
